Learn How to Draw Naruto

A question I often get is: Can you teach me how to draw Naruto? Answering to this question is often hard because yes, I can teach you how to draw Naruto, but it will take some effort on your part. As with any other skill you can learn, you can always get better at drawing. Even the greatest masters of the renaissance were never fully educated on drawing, some might even say that you cannot really learn how to draw, since there is always something new to learn. This might sound like I am trying to scare you from drawing, I am not. I am just saying that it takes some time and effort.

Ok, now I know that practice is all it takes, but where do I start?

You could start by drawing faces, and the easiest would be to start drawing cartoon faces. Bellow I have listed a few steps to teach you how to draw Naruto's face.

Step 1:

Start by drawing a lot of circles, draw them in a variety of sizes and do this until you can make them as round as possible. This is a very common and famous drill to use when learning how to draw.

Step 2:

Now you can start drawing the face. Start by getting some reference images, you can get these from the internet, or a magazine.

Step 3:

Start by drawing an oval for the head, and then divide the oval with what is called guidelines. These are vertical and horizontal lines which makes it easier to position the facial features. Make one vertical line through the middle of the oval, and some horizontal lines to indicate where the eyes, nose, mouth and eyebrows should be. Here it is important that you study your reference image(s)

Step 4:

Now it is time to draw two circles for the eyes. To make it easier to position the eyes, you can use the rule that all faces are about 5 eyes wide, meaning that there is always one eye's width in between the eyes, and one to the side of each of them.

Step 5:

Draw the nose, mouth, and eyebrows. Use you reference image(s) a lot now. Try to notice where some facial features are positioned in relation to other elements of the face.

Step 6:

Now let's draw the eyes. This is what most people struggle with the most. A Good idea would be to practice drawing a lot of eyes. Start by drawing the eyeball with the pupil in it, and then draw the eyelids.

Step 7:

Now it is just a few things left to draw. Draw the jaw line and the neck, the hair, and the band around his head.

That is about it! And remember to practice drawing every day;)
