Roach Gigz - Ay Boy Boy ft. Pac B Prod. C-Loz [Download + Review]

Download after review: In the box we have Roach Gigz' song 'Ay Boy Boy'. But first a recommendation: All music should be viewed in the context of its culture, and if not it will be misunderstood. The culture at hand is the ever-wavering, perceived retarded step-child of hip-hop - The Bay Area. Occasionally, the area births someone who completely personifies the attitudes, beliefs and lifestyles of said culture. Roach Gigz is one of these people and should be commended for it. He's not reinventing the area, but bringing it new life. The song Ay Boy Boy is produced by the always synth-bass-heavy producer C-Loz. Though one of the least creative producers when compared to music in it's entirety, he does what he does best. Making glass-shattering bay area anthems, overshadowing (by a huge margin) the previous production star of the Bay; Traxamillion. This track is no different. When viewed in the context of Bay Area culture, C-Loz hits it perfect. The song aims to make its listeners move, and it does just that. Then we have Roach Gigz crawling onto the track with, "I'm from the city, I'm lightweight mainey". Roach is a vocally-elastic rapper with 1% focus, 9% lyricism, and 90% Roach. I could bring myself to write a scathing review of his lack of technical rapping skill; But that's not what he's aiming for. Why knock someone who missed the target when he was really aiming for the clouds all along? Roach makes fun music, and this is no different. He personifies intoxication ...
