Naruto Shippuden Vs Naruto

The most important attraction of the original Naruto series was the friendship element. The friendship between Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke was the key element in making the series interesting. The youthful innocence and progression into comradeship was highlighted in the series. Relationship between Naruto and Sasuke was also among the pivotal parts of the plots.

Naruto wanted to be recognized as he has been ignored by the entire village in the growing up stage. Naruto connects with Sasuke as he is one among the top Ninja students in his class. This connection is however developed with respect. He also has a feeling that if he can make Sasuke to respect him, he can make everyone else respect him too. The never say die attitude of Naruto is also among the major attractions of the series.

Naruto Shippuden happens after two and half years after the end of first series. Most of the audience seems to like the second series more interesting than the original one. Even though the innocence of the first series is missing in the second one, the maturity of the characters is something that makes the series more interesting.

Naruto Shippuden is also great as it gives the morale that power brings about a lot of danger and responsibility. The series also shows Naruto trying to stop his dependence on the nine-tailed fox demon for power.

The depiction of the major elements of the original series with maturity is the most important attraction of the series. The comedy in the series is also of great quality. The greater level of sophistication in the comedy is also adding to the value of the series. Since, Shippuden is just the continuation of the original series, watching this before the original one is not recommended. In total, the series is the rightful continuation of the original popular series.

Review of Naruto Shippuden Story Arc One

Since this is essentially a restart of the series they needed to reconnect us to the characters. I don't want to give too much away if you are still watching the original series, but at this point Sasuke is with Orochimaru and Naruto has gone off to train for two and a half years.

The series starts with Naruto's return and his reconnection to his friends (and vicariously us). At this same time; to keep the action moving, two members of the group that are after the tailed demons are moving in on the village of sand. Their goal is Garra.

Battles abound throughout this Arc, since they wanted to keep the action fans happy. The real story is in the new maturity level of Naruto, and the rest of the characters. Sakura has advanced considerably under the eye of Lady Tsunade, and an early segment with Kakashi testing Naruto and Sakura is very fun.

The only complaint I have, is that they jumped back into the action a little too fast for my taste. Even one or two more episodes with more of naruto reconnecting with his friends, would have added to the restart of the series. As is, they still did pretty well. Letting several of the supporting cast; including team guy and some old friends from the Sand Village, get some good air time.

Naruto's ability to change even the most jaded individuals comes into play, and some interesting things are set up for later. The biggest revelations in this arc involve Akatsuki (the group after the tailed demons). We get to see something of what they're up to and the extreme methods they are using. We also get to see the whole group for the first time.

I will give this story Arc the Following ratings:
Story Development: B+ -Several important events occur in this story arc, but they could have spent more time in some areas.
Action: A -I doubt I will ever rate this under A, the action is superb as always.
Arc Story: C+ -They should have spent a bit more time on Naruto's return, and some less important parts seem to drag on forever.

Overall I will say it's a B+ story Arc.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 83 - Target: Locked On

Tsunade tells Sakura that Team 7 will be Team 10's backup if Naruto finishes his training within 24 hours. Shikamaru quickly adjusts the team's strategy to include Kakashi. After Hidan and Kakuzu are found, Shikamaru pins the shadows of the Akatsuki pair with Asuma's blades imbued with his chakra. He uses Hidan to attack Kakuzu, but Kakuzu had secretly detached his arm during Shikamaru's attack. The arm removes the blade pinning his shadow and he dodges Hidan. Choji then attacks Kakuzu from above.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 84 - Kakuzu's Abilities

Choji's spiked cannonball is ineffective against Kakuzu's special ability, which enables him to harden his skin with an Earth element technique. Naruto learns more about the five elements and their strengths and weaknesses in relation to each other. Kakuzu gets struck by Kakashi's Lightning Blade right through the heart, but survives and produces four masked entities from his body, one of which dies, as it had been struck by the Lightning Blade. Kakuzu then uses the masks to attack Team 10 with Kakuzu using powerful wind, lightning and fire jutsu.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 85 - The Terrifying Secret

Shikamaru realizes Kakuzu has five hearts, each of which must be killed before he dies. He reasons that separating the two Akatsuki is the only way to defeat them, so he uses Shadow Possession Jutsu to lead Hidan to a forest. Kakuzu combines two of his hearts into a single entity and prepares to face Kakashi, Ino and Choji to get a replacement heart. At the same time, Hidan strikes Shikamaru and draws blood. He then prepares to use his ritual to kill Shikamaru.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 86-87 -- Shikamaru's Genius - When You Curse Someone, You Dig Your Own Grave

Hidan stabs himself, but instead of mortally wounding Shikamaru with his curse, he destroys another one of Kakuzu's hearts. Shikamaru attempts to behead Hidan, but fails, then pins him down with his shadow possession. It turns out that vial contained blood that Kakashi took from Kakuzu when he hit him with Lightning Blade. This temporarily incapacitates Kakuzu, though his other hearts continue to attack. Choji attempts to finish off the remaining hearts, but fails, and they return to Kakuzu's body, with one sacrificing itself to become his heart. Just as Kakuzu is about to finish them off with another fire/wind jutsu, Team 7 arrives just in time to stop the attack with a wind/water jutsu combo.

Sakura and Sai leave to help Shikamaru. Hidan attempts to break out of Shikamaru's weakened hold on him, but Shikamaru uses a new technique to pull the explosive tags he set up onto his body. Shikamaru then opens a trap hole he had prepared, and reveals that his plan was to bury Hidan beneath the Nara family woods to ensure that no one would look for his body. He has a vision of Asuma entrusting his "will of fire" to him, then uses his lighter to ignite the tags on Hidan. Naruto uses Shadow Clones to test Kakuzu's fighting ability, and then readies the jutsu he has been developing, Wind Style: Spiraling Shuriken..

Naruto Shippuden Episode 88 - Fuuton, Rasen-Suriken

Naruto uses his new technique Rasen-Shuriken to battle Kakuzu. In the fisrt attempt, he fail. He lost Rasen-Shuriken form just it will hit Kakuzu. Kakuzu catch Naruto and want to steal his heart, but Kakashi and Yamato move quickly to save Naruto.

In other place, Shikamaru defeat Hidan alone. He explodes hidan with explosive tags and bury him there. few moments later, Sakura and Sai come. See that Shikamaru have defeated hidan, they return to rejoin their friends.

Naruto tries for the second attempt. Kakuzu knows that he must use long range combat to counter Naruto's technique. Naruto uses his shadow clone again and this time, his Rasen-Shuriken success hit Kakuzu.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 89 - Price of Power

Naruto's jutsu severely wounds Kakuzu, and Kakashi finishes him off. Shikamaru visits Asuma's grave and meets Kurenai there, and tells her that he has realized that he has to take responsibility, and will protect her child once it is born. He plays Shogi with his father and reveals the lesson that Asuma had recently learned and had taught him- the king that the ninjas of Konoha must protect is not the Hokage, but the next generation. Tsunade sees that Kakuzu's nerves have been severed by Naruto's Spiraling Shuriken, and noticing that it also injures Naruto the same way, tells Kakashi not to let Naruto use it again. Naruto is unaware of how dangerous the technique is, and feels confident he and Sakura are getting closer to Sasuke. Elsewhere, Orochimaru hears of recent developments, and sends Kabuto to meet with a woman named Goren, whose assistance he needs.
